Needs assessment survey in Tochi

This involved women who identified their need as maize miller and walking tractor and a rice huller. A total of 80 women participated in the survey and to them they highly needed the walking tractor to plough their gardens and as well hire it to other members so that they can generate money. The women raised six projects that they felt could benefit them namely bee keeping, milling machine, tractor project, goats rearing, tree planting, and poultry. The women were requested to select two projects which they feel can generate money and is sustainable. The women voted for the projects and results were as illustrated in the table below:

Achievement : The two projects that ranked high were maize miller at 45% and tractor at 25% and the members all agreed and a proposal to the effect was written and presented to Private sector foundation  The maize miller and the rice huller have helped the members to mill their millet, cassava, maize and rice for their own consumption and for sell. The Equipments that are owned and managed by the members has reached 1870 people since July when it started operating.
